Since moving to Tacoma, my partner and I needed a new auto shop and went to Southend Auto Care a couple weeks ago for routine maintenance on our 2017 Chevy Volt (it's a plug-in hybrid) because they already have great reviews on Yelp. I sent a request via their website and they scheduled my quickly for the next week. I checked in on time and the service was great. I had no idea if the car even needed any maintenance and they were honest and fast. Trevor was the technician who is apparently extremely knowledgeable with hybrid cars so I'm glad we found this shop. They worked quickly and provided a printout of diagnostics to show if anything would be needed in the near future. They also vacuumed the front floors for free which was a nice surprise because I needed to do that for some time. Very professional, friendly and great service all around!

Love the service, Lexus quoted $1,800 for my a/c repair. Sam was accommodating, gave me a loner which I appreciated and they got the parts from my Lexus dealership, installed for $999.50. I highly recommend them, they care about their customers.

When I dropped my car off for service, I received a text outlining a vehicle inspection, with pictures to bring to my attention recommended maintenance based on priority that would allow me to prioritize future service schedules. I was looking for a new business to take my vehicles to and now I have found one. I am the type of person who will spend a few hours researching my vehicle's problem to see if I can fix it myself. Then I will look up the price of the parts for a general idea of what the repair will cost. I like to take my vehicle to a mechanic to see if they match what I see. To me, the most important trait for mechanics is honesty and Mark and his team carry this trait. I was given a quote that was spot on for materials. I believe the labor was more than anticipated, but my quote stayed the same. Not only did Southend Auto Care do a great job, they are a business I now trust. Honest, high quality and terrific employees. I had a 1996 Passat TDI that had been sitting for over 3 years. I took it to Southend to determine whether it was worth refurbishing. Their caring, thoughtful and professional advice led me to keep the car. They saved money for me every step of the way. I can't believe how inexpensive the bill was. I am so grateful to have found Southend Auto! Finding a new auto repair shop is one of the most stressful challenges I can think of. I moved down from north Seattle a few years ago where I had trusted mechanics. Southend Auto is my auto repair shop for life.

I experience a check engine light on my Ford 2010 hybrid. The error on the dash and with a OBD code reader pointed to an error in the hybrid drive system. The problem was intermittent. I could clear the code and the car would work for a day or a few weeks, but then would refuse to start. I took the car to two Ford dealerships who could not locate the problem and charge me $185+ each for diagnostic work without a solution. I had my car towed to Southend Auto when the issue came up again. Their technician figured out that the main battery, not the hybrid battery was dead ( less than 8 volts!). Why two dealerships could not figure this out, or why the car didn't give an error code for low battery voltage is beyond comprehension. In short, Mark, Scott and the team diagnosed the problem and fixed a very vexing problem. They also did the 60K service on the Ford and it's running better than anytime I have owned this vehicle. Future service on this Ford will be done here, and not at a dealer! As an update, my Ford had a check engine light on. My OBD reader said I had a bad EGR valve. Scott suggested some diagnostic time because something else could be the problem, not the EGR valve. They found a technical service bulletin that said to reprogram the system rather than replacing the EGR valve. If I had blindly replaced the EGR valve, I would still have the check engine light problem. This team is top notch!
