This is a bi long - but well worth the read: On my 2019 Kia Sorento, Was driving and the car acted as if it was starved for fuel. then it would act like it regained fuel and ran normal. The after about 1 minute it did it again. If I wanted to go faster, I had to kind of feather the gas pedal to gain speed. The check engine light came on for about 5 minutes then went out, and never came back on. Since we are former customers of Southend Auto Care, I made it into the shop. After diagnosis, Sam called and explained that Kia had extended the warranty on that problem and that I could do the work there, which would be approx. $1500, or I could take it to the Kia Dealer and it would be covered under warranty. I had the car towed into the Kia dealer. Their diagnosis was the same as Southend Auto Care. informed me that it would be covered under warranty. The work was performed and all is well with the car. Southend Auto Care did not have to tell me that the dealer would cover it. They could have just done the work andade the money on it. THAT is how you can tell a reputable and honest auto repair shop. -----AND THEN ------ My wife has a 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder. It is in excellent condition but has had one nagging problem, that couldn't be solved. We have been dealing with it for the last 4 years. 4 times at the dealership, one time at an small independent car repair shop, one time at a family friend/auto mechanic, three times in our driveway by myself and a friend. Nothing was figured out. So, since we knew we could trust Southend Auto Care, we took it in, right after what they did for us, with my Kia Sorento. They discovered that the electronic door lock was fine and wasn't causing the problem, they said that the headlights were fine and were not causing the problem, the ECM Module was ok and wasn't causing the problem. They said that the battery was fine and wasn't causing the problem, but that they had narrowed the problem down to a wire in the door. With their expert electrical tech, Trevor, on it, the problem was traced down, fixed, tested, and the car was deemed to be ok. So wi picked it up, paid the $700 bill, and have had no problems with the car. Here's the most interesting fact about this - With all of the experts involved and even a Mitsubishi Dealer, no one could find the problem that kept draining the battery every night. The cost of all that was a little over $4,000.00, and Southend Auto Care could have solved it quickly and efficiently for only $700. We wish we had found them sooner! We will continue to be fans of Southend Auto Care, with all of our cars, for a long time to come. We highly recommend Southend Auto Care and have referred friends and family to them.
