Whether I need an oil change, or am looking at major maintenance and repairs, I know that Southend Auto Care will give me an honest and detailed description of my cars problems. They will also break down what is urgent, what would be wise, and what is optional. I've trusted my cars, and my family's road safety, to them for over 10 years now, with no regrets.

My experiences at Southend Auto Care are always great--I've been going to them since 2005. Excellent records are kept on my car, and the customer service is unbeatable. I have absolute confidence that these folks will do a good job. They even wash and vacuum my car! I'd recommend them very highly!

Another fantastic experience at Southend Auto Care! My daughters are just starting to drive, so I want them super safe. The vehicle started to feel funny, and I showed up at 2:00 p.m. asking if they could give the car a look. They diagnosed bad brake rotors, obtained the parts, and had my car ready be the end of the day! As an added bonus, they allowed me a loaner car for the afternoon. Fast, friendly and fair--that's how Southend has been for me going on 12 years now! Thank you!

I take both of my cars to Southend I found them about 18 months ago after my last mechanic went out of business. They've done a pretty good amount of work for me (I've got two Fords a 95 Escort and an 01 Explorer so you know I've needed some repairs with the age of 'em). I've had timing belts replaced, serpentine belts, automatic window motors, tie rods, struts, etc, etc. I've probably spent a few thousand dollars at this shop total but I must say that if there's a cheaper way to fix something Paul lets me know. They've had to redo work that I had had done in the not too distant past by other shops, and always really try to help me get a refund or the work done under warranty from the other places. Unfortunately, like I said, my last mechanic went out of business so any warranties were useless.I price checked them vs a few other places before my first visit and found that their prices weren't the drop dead lowest around but were closer to midrange. You get what you pay for and I know that I'm getting reliable service from Southend. They are easy to get on the phone and Mark calls to follow up if you've had a big repair. Often there's a wait but I'm of the opinion that if there aren't any other customers, especially when it comes to a mechanic, there's probably a reason. On a side note, whenever I pick up my car it's been washed and vacuumed, and that really is a nice touch.

TL;DR: honest, non-pressuring, fair price, personable. I had to get something fixed on my car to pass the emissions test of the state, and I literally picked the closest auto shop on the list the emissions people gave me. I did see that Southend had great reviews, but that doesn't automatically mean a place is as good as the reviews. In Southend's case, the great reviews are true. Mark was super friendly and helpful. I had kind of a tough repair decision to make, but he didn't pressure me, and he also didn't get upset when I changed my mind and went ahead with the repair that I really did need to get done. They also did a thorough check of my vehicle and gave an honest report about their repair suggestions. Again, there was no pressure. I just got a follow-up thank-you card in the mail from them actually, which is a great personal touch. I was looking for a good auto place for while I'm in Tacoma, and Southend is the place.

We find Southend Auto Care to be thorough and honest in their evaluations; they stand behind their services & repairs. You are informed of the prognosis, and costs involved. They do their best to work within your expectations with prices that are reasonable and fair. When you take your vehicle in for repairs, you are at the mercy of the mechanics and their integrity. We are happy to entrust all of our vehicles in their care.
