I'm about to go in and complete another great service at Southend Auto. Mark, Paul, and the other techs get the work done, they do it well, and their pricing is reasonable. Integrity is the big plus for me. They had check my brakes, and there were near minimum. A year later they asked to check again. 20 minutes Paul came back and asked if I ever breakno change. They could have easily sold me a break jobbut they didn't. When the diagnosis is tough, the key is to talk it through with them. I'm no car expert, but Southend has always worked with me to find reasonable solutions to keep my car running. They will also parse out what is necessary and what can wait. Bottom line: I've been with Southend auto as a customer for about 10 years now, and suspect I'll still be there 10 years from now.

Mark, the owner, took care of me personally and walked me thru everything I had done to my truck. I needed to have my radiator replaced unexpectedly as well as additional work but had all my options explained to me and did not feel pressured. The wifi and courtesy vehicle made my all day wait more than tolerable. I will definitely be returning and would recommend this shop to anyone it is the best I have come across.

My girlfriend and I both bring our cars here, they are our goto mechanic now. They are very polite and seem to be pretty reasonable/comparable in terms of price. It's hard to speak on the quality of their work without being a mechanic myself but I can say that we've never had any problems or mishaps. Mark, the owner, came in on Sunday (when they were closed) in order to finish the repairs on my car so I could get to work on Monday morning. They even sent my girlfriend a thank you card thanking her for her business which included a $5 Starbucks giftcard! I can't say they'll send you a gift card too but it's just an example of their high caliber service.

TL;DR: honest, non-pressuring, fair price, personable. I had to get something fixed on my car to pass the emissions test of the state, and I literally picked the closest auto shop on the list the emissions people gave me. I did see that Southend had great reviews, but that doesn't automatically mean a place is as good as the reviews. In Southend's case, the great reviews are true. Mark was super friendly and helpful. I had kind of a tough repair decision to make, but he didn't pressure me, and he also didn't get upset when I changed my mind and went ahead with the repair that I really did need to get done. They also did a thorough check of my vehicle and gave an honest report about their repair suggestions. Again, there was no pressure. I just got a follow-up thank-you card in the mail from them actually, which is a great personal touch. I was looking for a good auto place for while I'm in Tacoma, and Southend is the place.

We find Southend Auto Care to be thorough and honest in their evaluations; they stand behind their services & repairs. You are informed of the prognosis, and costs involved. They do their best to work within your expectations with prices that are reasonable and fair. When you take your vehicle in for repairs, you are at the mercy of the mechanics and their integrity. We are happy to entrust all of our vehicles in their care.

I’ve been bringing my vehicles to Southend Auto Care since before it was Southend Auto Care. I’ve known Owner Mark Hanson for more than 25 years and when I think of Mark and his crew at Southend, the word relationship comes directly to mind. If you find a great mechanic you stick with that person. Southend is fair, competitive, honest, courteous, knowledgeable, reliable, neighborly and trustworthy. They’ve never tried to oversell me. If my vehicle needs it they tell me, if it doesn’t they tell me that too. For example, my heater was working intermittently last winter. Instead of telling me to bring it in for an expensive radiator job Paul suggested simply adding some coolant to see if that would do the trick. Sure enough, done deal… Paul has even given me some outstanding vacation ideas. Southend Auto Care is great people who know their stuff, an unbeatable combination!

Mark has been our family's mechanic since 1990. His attention to detail and his honesty make him our ONLY mechanic. We even had a car towed over 100 miles to his shop!

Just drove by their shop(passing through) pretty easy to see the Giant sign off to the side of the road. Not knowing alot about cars I still felt very comfortable with the advice that was given by the Owner ? Mark/paul not sure which is which spoke with both. Very glad I didnt have to wait at their shop the whole time my car was worked, they did have wifi but i cant stand staying hours in one spot, can drive me crazy ;) so they offered me two choices to take a loaner car that i didnt have to pay for say whaaaat.. too bad im not 25 yet, but they did have a shuttle service which offered to take me up to the local mall so I could get some shopping in while they took care of my car. It did take kinda long for them to get back to me with what was going on but it was also pretty busy when i dropped off my car and picked it up so I let it slide this time lol but I was sold on the very good review when i saw that they vacuumed my car and washed it. sry guys i know my cars gross. Overall I felt comfortable while there, felt good about leaving my car there, only downside was the time it took to get back on the road but hey it still got taken care of the same day, my dad says price was legit for what they did i guess and my cars still working like couple months later and its very clean now because of the guys at South End Autocare

I recently had my 90k service done at Southend Auto Care. The staff were knowlegable about my car and the customer service was excellent. The owner himself even detailed my car! They obviously appreciated my business, thanks guys.

I have been taking my cars to Southend for 14 years. I have always had excellent service each time I went. The work has always been done timely and accurately. I would highly reccomend anyone with a car problem to take it to Southend Auto Care because the owner is extremely honest and forthright and will not ever steer you wrong.
